Regina Benjamin,is currently the founder and chief executive officer of, and is a practicing physician at, BayouClinic, Inc., since January 1990. Dr. Benjamin was appointed as the 18th United States Surgeon General by President Barack Obama in July 2009 and served in that role from November 2009 to August 2013. In addition, Dr. Benjamin has approximately 30 years of experience as a practicing family physician.
