Montage Technology (MT) has reported 1H26 revenue/attributable net profit (NP)/recurring NP of RMB3,335/1,997/1,322mn (+26.7/+72.3/+21.2% YoY). For 2Q26, revenue/attributable NP/recurring NP were RMB1,875/1,150/719mn (+32.8/+81.5/+22.1% YoY; +28.3/+35.7/+19.0% QoQ). Non-recurring items included investment income and gains from fair value changes, totaling RMB682mn. For 2Q26, interconnect chip revenue grew by 28.2% YoY and 19.5% QoQ to RMB1,694mn, driven by strong demand for memory interface chips and incremental contribution from new products such as PCIe Retimer and CKD. Interconnect chip GPM fell by 4.1pp QoQ to 67.4%, likely due to product mix shifts. We expect Agent AI development to keep memory interface chip demand buoyant. Commercial deployments of new products including MRDIMM, CXL, and PCIe Switch should add earnings growth drivers. Maintain BUY.
1H26 review: interconnect chip revenue grew rapidly
For 1H26, interconnect chip revenue grew by 26.4% YoY to RMB3,111mn, fueled by rising demand for servers and memory modules, a significant increase in DDR5 RCD chip shipments, and rapid scaling of multiple new interconnect chip products. Revenue from four new products – MRCD/MDB, PCIe Retimer, CKD, and CXL MXC rose by 80.7% YoY to RMB538mn, with 1Q26/2Q26 revenue at RMB269/269mn. Jintide revenue rose by 31.2% YoY to RMB220mn. On profitability, the interconnect chip GPM rose by 4.95pp YoY to 69.3%, as gen-3/-4 DDR5 products accounted for over 50% of shipments, gen-5 products started at-scale shipments, and the revenue contribution from new interconnect chip products increased. The overall GPM rose by 4.87pp YoY to 65.3%. On expenses, MT remained committed to product iteration and new product R&D, with R&D expenses maintaining high growth. The 1H26 R&D expense ratio was 13.58%, up by 0.02pp YoY. In addition, 1H26 share-based payment expenses of RMB191mn diluted the attributable NP by RMB183mn. Excluding share-based payment expenses, the attributable NP/recurring NP were RMB2,180/1,505mn (+64/+19% YoY).
Earnings forecasts and valuation
Memory interface chip demand remains buoyant, and MT’s capacity is set to expand. We thus raise our 2026/2027/2028 revenue forecasts by 4/12/19% to RMB7,615/10,939/14,306mn. Considering product mix shifts, we lower our GPM forecasts to 65.1/65.0/64.4%. Accordingly, we raise our 2026/2027/2028 attributable NP forecasts by 3/8/19% to RMB3,892/5,353/7,284mn. As a leading memory interface chip producer, MT should benefit from agent-driven CPU and memory demand growth, as well as faster commercialization of new AI-related products including MRDIMM, CXL, and PCIe Switch. The company also differentiates itself with leading profitability. We thus value the stock at 60x 2027E PE, above its peers’ average of 48x on Wind consensus. Our target price is RMB263.06 (previous: RMB231.75, based on 75x 2026E PE). Maintain BUY.
Risks: new product R&D falling short of our expectations, DDR5 penetration peaking, market expansion missing our expectations.
