Bestechnic Shanghai has reported 1H26 revenue of RMB1,351mn (-30.29% YoY), attributable net profit of RMB171mn (-43.87% YoY), and recurring net profit of RMB151mn (-46.92% YoY). In 2Q26, revenue was RMB682mn (-27.74% YoY, +1.95% QoQ), attributable net profit was RMB82mn (-28.20% YoY, -7.85% QoQ), and recurring net profit was RMB75mn (-29.72% YoY, -0.26% QoQ). End-market demand remained under pressure from rising memory chip prices and the phase-out of national subsidies. Bestechnic benefited from the gradual ramp-up of new downstream products, with 2Q26 revenue returning to QoQ growth. Gross margin stayed broadly stable QoQ at 42.38% (-0.17pp QoQ) despite higher memory costs, while attributable net margin was 12.03% (-1.28pp QoQ). Bestechnic continues to expand in smart wearables and innovative smart hardware. Its next-gen flagship wearable chip, the BES6100, has been taped out and is to enter testing and customer sampling in 2H26, which we expect to open up revenue growth opportunities. 1H26 review: end-demand soft; gross margin improved YoY
In 1H26, Bestechnic ramped up mass production of multiple new chips, including the BES2810, BES2710 and BES2720, and added key new customers in the smart glasses segment such as RayNeo and Rokid. It also achieved volume production of new end products including Wi-Fi audio and smart companion devices. However, revenue still declined YoY due to weak demand for traditional end products such as earbuds. Bestechnic continued to upgrade its chips and optimize its product mix. 1H26 gross margin rose 3.19pp YoY to 42.47%. Total expense ratio (selling + administrative + R&D) was 31.11% (+6.72pp YoY), and attributable net margin fell 3.06pp YoY to 12.66%. Inventory stood at RMB860mn at end-2Q26, broadly stable versus RMB890mn at end-1Q26.
2H26: expanding edge AI products
Despite near-term demand volatility, we expect the company to deliver sequential revenue improvement on market share gains and end-application expansion. 1) Smartwatch chip shipments have been rising since 2024. In 2025, the company added new domestic and overseas customers such as XTC and Suunto and achieved volume production, and we expect the acquisitions of more overseas brand customers. 2) The company continues to make progress in new applications such as smart glasses, wireless microphones, action cameras and smart companion devices. In smart glasses, beyond Li Auto and Xiaomi, it added customers such as RayNeo and Rokid in 1H26, leveraging its technology accumulation and performance advantages in NPU, low-power Bluetooth/WiFi and ISP. We expect revenue from these areas to scale up. In addition, the company’s next-generation flagship wearable chip, the BES6100, has been taped out and is to enter testing and customer sampling in 2H26. We expect it to achieve commercial adoption in smart glasses, smartwatches and other scenarios, contributing revenue in 2027.
Earnings forecasts and valuation
As the phasing out of national subsidies and higher raw-material costs weigh on consumer end-demand, we cut our 2026/2027/2028 revenue forecasts to RMB3,090/4,195/5,510mn (-20%/-18%/-16% vs previous). Given the company's continued product upgrades, we raise our R&D expense ratio assumptions, with attributable net profit now forecast at RMB393/696/1,077mn (-43%/-36%/-32% vs previous). We remain positive on the rollout of the next-gen flagship BES6100 platform, which we expect to strengthen the company's leadership in low-power edge AI and unlock greater growth potential in smartwatches, AI glasses and other markets. We apply a 2027E PE of 43.9x (in line with the average for comparable companies on Wind consensus) and derive our target price of RMB129.00 (previous: RMB146.7, based on 50.5x 2026E PE and current share count). OVERWEIGHT.
Risks: upstream cost volatility, weaker downstream demand and sales volumes than we expect, and intensifying competition.
