Gary E. Dickerson,has been President of Applied Materials since 2012 and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors since 2013. Mr. Dickerson joined Applied following its acquisition in 2011 of Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc., a supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Mr. Dickerson had served as Chief Executive Officer and a director of Varian since 2004. Prior to joining Varian in 2004, Mr. Dickerson served 18 years at KLA-Tencor Corporation, a supplier of process control and yield management solutions for the semiconductor and related industries, where he held a variety of roles, including President and Chief Operating Officer.
