Jiong Ma has over 25 years of experience in investing, building, and scaling of companies with a foc on innovative product launches in digital health, technology and the new energy transition. Dr. Ma has been a General Partner of Phoenix Venture Partners since July 2024. She has served as director of SES AI Corporation (NYSE: SES) since February 2022 and has served as Lead Independent Board Director beginning in 2023. She also chairs the Compensation Committee, and is a member of Audit, Nominating, and Strategic Investment Committee of SES. Dr. Ma served as senior partner and a member of the investment committee at Braemar Energy Ventures ("Braemar") from 2008 to 2020. While at Braemar, Dr. Ma led investments in more than 15 companies involved in either resce efficiency, e mobility, indtrial digitalization, renewable energy, or deep tech, and has achieved multiple successful exits through M&A and IPO. Dr. Ma has significant knowledge and expertise in the technology indtry, including information security. - Hong Gan serves as the Company's Chief Science Officer, a position he has held since 2020. Dr. Gan was previoly SES's Director of Research & Development from 2018 to 2020. From 2013 to 2018, he was Group Leader of the Energy Storage Group at the Stainable Energy Department at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, and from 2011 to 2013, he was Senior Director of Research & Development at Enevate Corporation. From 1993 to 2011, Dr. Gan held vario positions at Greatbatch Medical, culminating in his roles as Director, Battery Research and Director, Research & Development Por Sces, Primary Battery. Dr. Gan earned his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1990, and his BS in Chemistry from Peking University in 1982.
