PV Supply Reform Likely to Facilitate A Profit Bottom-Out
发布时间:2026-08-31 来源:华泰证券
Tongwei Co. (Tongwei) reported 1H26 revenue of RMB34.4bn (-15.19% YoY), attributable NP of RMB-5.1bn (loss widened by 3.31% YoY), and recurring NP of RMB-5.3bn (loss widened by 5.05% YoY). In 2Q26, the company posted revenue of RMB22.2bn (-9.54% YoY, +83.35% QoQ), attributable NP of RMB-2.7bn (loss widened by 13.22% YoY and 9.43% QoQ). The widening loss was due to a sharp decline in PV supply chain prices, along with asset impairment losses, including RMB2.0bn in inventory write-down provisions. As polysilicon capacity utilization improved and destocking progressed in 2Q26, operating cash flow turned positive, with a net inflow of RMB109mn in 1H26, a significant YoY turnaround (vs. RMB-1.95bn in 1H25), which eased pressure. Looking ahead, Tongwei continues to push cost reductions and efficiency improvement, with cost control plus advanced cell and module products key to building resilience through the cycle. Separately, national mandatory energy efficiency and energy consumption standards will take effect in 2027, and with the release of the industry cost accounting group standard, both the "benchmark" and the "yardstick" have been added to the PV supply-side reform toolkit, which could accelerate market-based industry consolidation. Maintain BUY.
Cost cut & efficiency gains likely to help in navigating cycles
On the efficiency front, Tongwei adheres to parallel R&D across multiple technology routes including TOPCon, HJT, xBC, and perovskite tandem, with several core technologies achieving breakthroughs. For TOPCon, Tongwei took the lead in completing mass production of its next-gen flagship TNC 3.0 technology, with mass-produced module power up to 670W and bifaciality of 85-90%. For HJT, Tongwei focuses on key technologies such as 100% silver-free copper plating, low-indium TCO, low-cost back polishing, and 0BB/SMBB modules, achieving an output power breakthrough of 802.43W for its THC-G12 heterojunction copper-interconnected module, with conversion efficiency as high as 25.83%. For xBC, Tongwei completed three core process milestones on the TBC route — 0BB stacked grid, silver-free copper plating, and full-screen encapsulation — with 210R module power exceeding 660W. For HTBC, it developed the first three-piece bifacial full-screen module with peak power of 681W and conversion efficiency of 25.2%. On the cost front, it continued to sharpen quality control while introducing energy-saving efficiency improvement measures, in the process achieving a 14% YoY reduction in module unit manufacturing costs and an 18% reduction in energy consumption.
Earnings forecasts and valuation
Considering the disruption from lower PV supply chain profitability in 2Q26, we lower our 2026-2028 attributable NP forecasts to RMB-3,487/+2,762/+4,380mn, vs previous forecasts of RMB-830/+3,469/+5,699mn (adjustments of -320/-20/ -23%, with growth rates of 63.5% loss narrowing, a 179.2% turnaround to profit, and +58.61%), implying EPS of RMB-0.77/+0.61/+0.97. Referencing the 2027 iFinD consensus PE of 26.99x for comparable companies (previous: 26.31x for 2027), we assign a 26.99x 2027E PE, trimming our target price to RMB16.46 (previous: RMB20.26, on 26.31x 2027E PE). Maintain BUY.
